During December 2018, Stagecoach West Scotland pledged to make a donation from every mobile bus ticket its customers purchased via the Stagecoach Bus App.
Sam Greer, Managing Director, Stagecoach West Scotland said: “We take great pride in being a community focused organisation. We’re delighted to be able to support local food and family support charities.”
Each bus depot was asked to nominate a charity close to their hearts which included – South Ayrshire Foodbank, Hillhouse Children’s Charity, North Ayrshire Women’s Aid, Dumfriesshire Foodbank and Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Foodbank.
Jacqueline Rowan, Marketing Manager, Stagecoach West Scotland said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to both our customers and employees for their support during the 2018 Give Back Campaign. Our bus drivers and office staff also organised collections, meaning we were able to donate 54.1kg of food and toiletry supplies to the foodbank to include in their reverse advent collection as well as present today’s cheque”.
A total of £8000 was raised from mobile sales to be divided between each of the charities listed as well as staff organising collections at local depots.
