The A77 has been closed both directions at Lendalfoot due to a serious RTC.
HGV and car users are to expect a 54 mile diversion!
Drivers should be aware that the A77 is currently closed in both directions near to Lendalfoot due to a road traffic incident. A Diversion route has been set up and drivers should follow diversion signs......THERE IS A SEPERATE DIVERSION FOR HGVs OVER 14FT 9INS HEADING NORTH BOUND. NORTH BOUND TRAFFIC.....All traffic leaving Stranraer for A77 will be directed onto A75 eastbound while all traffic already on the A77 at the A751 - will be directed right onto A751 to the junction with the A75. All A77 northbound traffic will follow the A75 to Newton Stewart – at South Barnkirk turn left onto unclassified road to its junction with A714 at North Barnkirk – turn left onto A714 and follow through Challoch, Bargrennan, Barhill, Pinwherry, Pinmore to Shallochpark Roundabout junction with A77 – take 2nd exit to rejoin A77 northbound. Ferry traffic arriving at Cairnryan wishing to travel North - follow A77 south to Innermessan, turn left onto A751 to A75 – turn left onto A75 and continue to Newton Stewart – at South Barnkirk turn left onto unclassified road to its junction with A714 at North Barnkirk – turn left onto A714 and follow through Challoch, Bargrennan, Barhill, Pinwherry, Pinmore to Shallochpark Roundabout junction with A77 – take 2nd exit to rejoin A77 northbound. On the A77 south of Bridgemill Roundabout, Girvan there is a low bridge with a height of 14’ 9”. Alternative high vehicle northbound route – at Shallochpark Roundabout take right 3rd exit onto Coalpots Road, Girvan and continue to junction with B734 – turn left onto B734 and continue to Bridgemill Roundabout – take right 2nd exit to rejoin A77 northbound.
SOUTH BOUND TRAFFIC.....Closure of A77 at Shallochpark Roundabout, Girvan – take 2nd exit onto A714 and follow through Pinmore, Pinwherry, Barhill, Bargrennan and Challoch to North Barnkirk – at North Barnkirk turn right onto the unclassified road to South Barnkirk at A75 – turn right onto A75 and continue to junction with A751 thereafter follow permanent signs to Stranraer or Innermessan. Closure of A77 at A751 Innermessan – turn left onto A751 follow for 1.7 miles to junction with A75 – turn right onto A75 - follow along London Road, Stranraer to Stair Drive – turn right into Stair Drive to junction with Cairnryan Road and then follow permanent signs.
