ScotlandTranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is proposing to carry out resurfacing of 800m of the A77 Southbound sliproads at Grassyards Interchange, near Kilmarnock.
In order to complete these works as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement two overnight closures of the sliproads and associated near side lane closures.
Gordon Coppard, Scotland TranServ’s Area Network Manager for Ayrshire said:
“These essential trunk road maintenance works have been developed in association with local authorities, emergency services and key local stakeholders. We are looking to keep disruption to a minimum, and recognise that our counterparts are also carrying out resurfacing works on the M77.
Traffic management will only be implemented once volumes are sufficiently low, in order to protect the safety of our workers and the traveling public.”
Traffic management will consist of a full closure of the A77 Grassyard southbound slip roads and a near side lane closure A77 south bound between Grassyards and the Bellfield Interchange. These closures will be implemented during the following times:
8pm Tuesday 21st to 6am Wednesday 22nd May8pm Wednesday 22nd to 6am Thursday 23rdMay
Local diversions will be in place for the southbound slip roads only, with northbound traffic unaffected by these works. Live trunk road information is available by visiting trafficscotland.org, or following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
