As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road maintenance programme, Scotland TranServ will carry out the overnight installation of the A77 Adamton bridge joints on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th February.

The short programme of overnight working is further to the recent resurfacing of the A77 Southbound from Adamton to Raith Burn. Jane Maclennan, Scotland TranServ’s Assistant Engineer said: “We have worked in consultation with Police Scotland, local authorities and key stakeholders to schedule the works for a period of minimal disruption to local communities and the travelling public. “This short programme of works involves the milling out, removal and replacement of asphaltic bridge joints further to the recent resurfacing programme on this stretch of carriageway. Working overnight will help to reduce the impact on the travelling public.” In order to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible it will be necessary to close the Southbound carriageway from: 8pm Thursday 8th February to 6am Friday 9th February 8pm Friday 9th to 6am Saturday 10th of February Local diversions will be in place throughout this short programme of overnight work. The Northbound carriageway will remain unaffected. Emergency Service and local access will be provided throughout the works, however there will be no provision for abnormal loads or windfarm movements.
