As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will resurface the A78 between Warrix Roundabout and Manson Road.
In order to complete works on this 1.6km stretch of the trunk road, it will be necessary to close the carriageway each week night from Monday 20th of August, with works finishing on the morning of Saturday 25thAugust.
David Montgomery, Scotland TranServ’s design lead on the programme said:
“We’re working overnight in order to keep disruption to local commuters and businesses to an absolute minimum. This is a busy section of the A78, and we have therefore consulted key stakeholders, local authorities and the emergency services in the planning and delivery of this project.
“This £480k programme of works is part of Scotland TranServ’s investment programme to improve the surface quality of the A78 from Ayrshire into Inverclyde. Already a number of resurfacing projects have taken place, with further projects planned for later in the year.”
In order to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible, Scotland TranServ will require to close this section of the trunk road during the following times:
8pm Monday 20th to 6am Tuesday 21st August
8pm Tuesday 21st to 6am Wednesday 22ndAugust
8pm Wednesday 22nd to 6am Thursday 23rdAugust
8pm Thursday 23rd to 6am Friday 24th August
8pm Friday 24th to 6am Saturday 25th August
In the interest of motorists’ safety, additional A76 single lane closures and restrictions on the slip road will be necessary during the day.
Local overnight diversions will be in place throughout. For further information please visit the Scotland TranServ website. Motorists are asked to allow additional time for their journeys. Drivers can check @trafficscotland or visit trafficscotland.org for live traffic information.
