Ardrossan coastguard assist police with missing person search

The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team was called out earlier this afternoon to assist Ayrshire Police Division with an ongoing missing person enquiry.

The team responded immediately to the Coastguard Rescue Station where a full briefing was conducted prior to search teams being deployed. The team was tasked to conduct a shoreline search from Ardrossan Harbour to Stevenston Point with regular updates being relayed to the Coastguard Operations Centre at Belfast throughout. Upon completion of the search and with nothing of note found, the team has then stood down and returned to station to have a post-search debrief, repack the search equipment and complete the required paperwork. The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to those in need, and is trained a wide range of search and rescue disciplines including conducting missing person searches. #999Coastguard Search and Rescue - it's what we do.
