Superheroes Get Ready For Return To Ayr

The capes have been ironed, masks dusted down and superhero poses perfected – it’s time to get suited up and head to the BGCP Comic Con at The Citadel.

The second instalment of the popular event is gearing up to be bigger and better than ever with over 50 traders, cosplayers, comic art classes and a host of special guests set to take over the leisure centre on Saturday 11th May.

Over 2000 comic and fantasy fans attended the first ever Ayr Comic Con last year.

Special Guests include Gary Erskine who has drawn for Marvel, DC 2000ad and many more. The event will also feature a Hollywood green screen to secure that perfect blockbuster photo, Nerf range, Design your own Character workshop, quizzes and superhero face painting.

If anyone has seen Hollywood Blockbuster Back to the Future then you'll be able to sit in a real life Delorean parked outside the centre.

Event Organiser, Ian Bonar, of BGCP Comic Con, said, “Last year's Ayr Comic Con was one of my favourite events as we expected a big turnout but the people that showed up on the day far exceeded that. We're aiming to make it even better this year and I am looking forward to seeing plenty of people coming along to the event dressed as their favourite superheroes and villains.”

The BGCP Ayr Comic Con will take place at Ayr Citadel Leisure Centre from 11am to 5pm on Saturday 11th May. To find out more and purchase your tickets head to
