It's the most magical time of the year and your Christmas joy and fun will be made complete if you go and see the Gaiety Theatres very first in-house Panto.
Written by Ken Alexander and Fraser Boyle, in association with The Coo Shed, it is a GIANT leap forward for the Gaiety Partnership who have milked every joke and bottled them all up with the most fabulous cast.
You will be magically whisked away to the village of Auchinfleg which is ruled over by the ever-hungry cruel Giant (literally a very tall GIANT) with his very nasty, smelly and disgusting sidekick, Sluggie Thunderpants, played by Karen Bartke.
But the hilarious Dame Aggie Trott will be always on top of the story with, jokes, singing and dancing and the most outlandish colourful costumes.
Get yourself prepared to stand up, shout and scream as you dodge the marshmallows.
The panto’s Scottish and local innuendos are brought to life by the crazy Sir Hector, the Laird of Auchinfleg, played by David McGowan.
Jack’s whole hilarious escapade, played by Gavin Jon Wright, who's performance instantly brings song, dance and laughter to the story but unfortunately, he is not the wisest as he sells the coo for a bag of beans instead of gold.
You can’t help love him and he can’t help falling in love with the Fair Fiona, played by the beautiful Jillian Cunningham - but the Panto would not be complete without the Fairy Bluebell, who appears with just a puff of smoke, played by Kirsty Malone who’s infectious personality is silly and charming as she has not quite passed her exams to be a full-blown fairy, but she fair gives it a good shot.
Put together by a fabulous backend team, this show is very special to the Gaiety and you don't want to miss out on tickets. This panto has been brought to you by the theatres specially hand-picked multi-talented Scottish Cast and full ensemble, and respected Scottish creative team, assembled from some of the top theatres and organisations throughout the UK.
While maintaining the level of traditional panto, this production goes miles higher and just when climbing up the beanstalk seemed a task in itself, the Gaiety has also climbed up the ladder and raised the bar for others to follow.
Local dance group 'Rennie Dance Academy' make a stardom appearance in the show with fabulous choreography.
