A search is well underway for a thief who robbed an Ayr home in broad daylight.
The robbery happened Midday, Wednesday 20th January. Jewellery was stolen along with necklaces, watches and a sum of cash from the home on Greenan Road, Ayr.

Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries in an effort to gather additional information. The house is situated within an estate which is close to Greenan Shore, an area popular with people walking their dogs.
Constable Gary Anderson said:
“This has been a very traumatic incident for the couple, finding their home broken into and items of jewellery which mean so much to them stolen. These items are of immense sentimental value and are irreplaceable. I would like to appeal to local people who live in the area and to dog walkers who use this route to think back, were you in the area between the hours of noon and 7.30pm on Wednesday, did you notice anything untoward or odd? If you have any information about this crime or whoever in responsible then please contact us.”
Anyone with any information or knowledge is asked to call officers at Ayr Police Office on the non-emergency number, 101.
