An Ayrshire-based startup founded by husband-and-wife team Cameron and Amy Sim has become one of the fastest-growing event platforms in the world, hosting more than 40,000 events in just 18 months.

PixelParty, built entirely from the couple’s home in Ayrshire, allows guests to instantly upload photos to a live event album by scanning a QR code — with no app or login required. What began as a small local idea has grown into a global success story, used at weddings, festivals, and large-scale corporate events across the UK, US, and beyond.

“We built PixelParty ourselves from our home in Ayrshire with one simple goal — to make sharing photos at events effortless,” said founder Cameron Sim. “It’s been amazing to watch something homegrown reach a global audience.”

The company has also used its platform to give back, offering free services to community and charity events. One example includes “Light The Lakes,” a charity event honouring fallen police officers across the UK, which PixelParty helped host for over 2,000 participants.

“Giving back has always been important to us,” added Cameron. “We’re proud that PixelParty can be used not just for weddings and business events, but also for meaningful causes like Light The Lakes.”

PixelParty’s achievements have also been recognised locally, with the startup named a finalist in the Ayrshire Business Startup Awards for its innovation and contribution to the regional economy.

Entirely self-built and bootstrapped, the company continues to grow rapidly and has become a popular choice for both private celebrations and major corporate functions worldwide.
