Ayrshire-based Land Energy has been named winner of the Business Excellence Award at the 2026 Ayrshire Chamber Annual Dinner.

The award, sponsored by Donnini Apartments, LMA Architects, Prestwick Aerosystems and UKSE, recognises the company’s commitment to strong performance through the alignment of strategy, people and processes, while continuing to deliver value for customers, stakeholders and wider society.
Land Energy communications officer David Bone said the business was delighted to receive the honour in what he described as a highly competitive category.

He said: “It’s an amazing achievement to win the Business Excellence Award from the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, and we would like to congratulate the other nominees, Ailsa Reliability Solutions and Solutions on Demand Group, in what was a very competitive field.
“This award belongs to everyone in the company, and particular thanks must go to our recently retired Business Excellence Lead, Reg Stewart, for all his hard work during his time with us.
“We have now received a hat-trick of awards this year, including a Net Zero Innovation Award from the Confederation of Forest Industries and a Resilience Award from the Centre for Engineering, Education and Development.

“These accolades reflect the team’s commitment to continuous improvement, hard work and our continued leadership in sustainable fuel products throughout the UK.”
The 2026 Ayrshire Chamber Annual Dinner was held at Trump Turnberry and hosted by Scottish entrepreneur Mike Soutar, known to many as Lord Sugar’s adviser on The Apprentice. The event is one of the biggest dates in the Ayrshire business calendar and welcomed around 500 business people from across the region and beyond.
Founded in 2006, Land Energy has grown to become the UK’s largest producer of sustainable wood pellets and briquettes, supplying low-carbon renewable fuel to homes and businesses across the country.
Alongside its core fuel products, the company also manufactures a range of sustainable goods including pizza pellets, cat litter, horse bedding and its new soil conditioner, Solivita.
