Ayrshire Housing Submit Plans to Build New Flats Across From Ayr Gaiety Theatre
Plans for 34 flats to be built just across from Ayr Gaiety Theatre and Madisons Nightclub have been submitted to South Ayrshire Council's planning committee the Ayrshire Daily News can reveal.

The housing association has submitted a planning application for 34 flats close to Ayr’s Gaiety Theatre.
Designed by Ayr architects ARPL the project aims to significantly widen the choice of accommodation in the town centre. With lift access, all the one and two-bedroom flats are designed to suit the needs of older and disabled households.
Ayrshire Housing said on there website:
"Given the busy location, privacy will be assured by a private courtyard entrance combined with roof gardens.
"The association has worked closely with the owners of the adjacent Kyle Centre to ensure that the proposal complements their plans for a major leisure attraction."

With grant support from the Scottish Government through South Ayrshire Council, the association is hoping to start work on the development in the spring of 2020.
The application has received two objections from business owners of Carrick Street, where the flats are to be built.
A decision has yet to be made on the application.
