Ayrshire Maternity Unit has regretfully taken the decision to suspend visiting for all antenatal and postnatal women in order to limit the potential spread of coronavirus and to protect mothers and newborn babies.
This includes induction of labour.
Partners will also not be able to stay in the midwifery suite.
This will come into effect from Monday 30th of March 2020.
Only one birthing partner will be permitted to accompany you when you are in labour or for a planned Caesarean section.
When you are ready to go home you will be assisted to the front door where you can be met by a family member for your transport home.
