Ayrshire Police Advise Public Not to Travel Unless Absolutely Necessary as High Winds Hit Ayrshire

Ayrshire Police have Tonight advised the Public against all travel as high winds and flooding continue to hit Ayrshire, a Met-Office Yellow warning for Wind and Rain also remains in place until 1AM on Sunday Morning.

Severe weather warning - Police advise all public not to travel unless absolutely necessary due to high winds and flooding.


The following routes are currently blocked due to fallen trees:


  • A76 Near Cumnock

  • A77 South near Bellfield

  • C61 between A70 and Ochiltree

  • B7042 High Maybole Road

  • Greenfield Ave, Ayr

  • B7034 near Dalrymple

  • Roads around Dailly


Emergency services are aware and making contact with relevant partner agencies to clear roads to make them passable.
