BHS to close it's doors one last time in Ayr High Street after 32 years


BHS will close it's doors to customers once more as the High Street store, that's be in Ayr town for over 32 years is set to close Tomorrow.


Ayrshire's only two BHS stores in Ayr and Kilmarnock will close there doors for good this Sunday 31st July it was announced by Administrators last week.

staff at both Ayrshire stores and UK wide will be told they face redundancy consultation as administrators move in on the 114 remaining shops across the UK with most Scottish stores closing this Sunday.

More than 11,000 employees are set to lose their jobs after the department store chain collapsed into administration in April.

Duff & Phelps closed down 20 stores on Saturday, affecting 580 staff, and will shut a further 30 shops on July 31, affecting another 700 employees.Staff across the remaining 114 stores will be formally notified later on Monday that their jobs are going into redundancy consultation with all stores to be closed by August 20.

Duff & Phelps has failed to find a buyer for the business as a going concern and will now look to sell the stores off piecemeal.

The doors will shut at 5pm tomorrow for one final time.
