BREAKING NEWS: Earthquake hits the United Kingdom

Its believed an earthquake has hit the north sea off the coast of North Yorkshire.

Its thought to have have struck at around 6.50pm, 100 miles east of Scarborough.

British Geological survey seismologists have yet to officially confirm the earthquake, though their devices located in Glasidale around 10 miles east of Whitby show a tremor this evening.

This is the first strong earthquake to hit the UK in 2017.
