Carrick bus Services Consultation Launched

CALL FOR BUS USERS IN CARRICK, CUMNOCK AND DOON VALLEY TO GIVE THEIR VIEWS ON BUS SERVICES AND SMART TICKETING

MSP Jeane Freeman has encouraged bus users across Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley to get involved in two new public consultations that will help shape the future of bus services and smart ticketing in Scotland. Transport Scotland will conduct a number of events and stakeholder workshops to encourage participation in these consultations before they close on 5th December. Commenting, MSP Jeane Freeman said: “Millions of people use buses across Scotland every day, including in Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley and for many they are a vital service for work, education and leisure. “Transport Scotland’s two new consultations offer the public and stakeholders in Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley an important opportunity to have their say on how best to improve Scotland’s bus services. “Developing an effective, joined up Scotland-wide smart ticketing and payment service, means it is important that as many transport operators, public bodies and users as possible are consulted.” Notes ‘Local Bus Services in Scotland – Improving the Framework for Delivery’ consultation: https://consult.scotland.gov.uk/transport-scotland/improving-bus-services ‘The Future of Smart Ticketing in Scotland’ consultation: https://consult.scotland.gov.uk/transport-scotland/smart-ticketing-in-scotland
