A creative South Ayrshire pupil has won an annual calendar contest, run by the Ayrshire Roads Alliance, to help promote important road safety and sustainable travel messages.
Every year, working with Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSO) in schools across South Ayrshire the Alliance, asks pupils to design a calendar for the year ahead and hundreds of imaginative and artistic entries are received.
Eilidh Docherty, a primary 5 pupil from Troon Primary School was selected as the winner.
Her clever design and slogan caught the eye of Councillor Ian Cochrane, Environment Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council.
Councillor Cochrane said: "I would like to congratulate Eilidh and all the pupils who entered the competition for the quality of their calendars.
"The road safety and sustainable travel messages are both very important and it was great to see the young people tackle the issues in such a creative and enthusiastic way."
Copies of Eilidh's colourful calendar have been printed and are now available free from many South Ayrshire Council buildings and local libraries.
