Community funding available for Ayr South and Coylton
People in Ayr South and Coylton are being encouraged to show their support for local community groups by voting on their favourites.
The latest Ayr South decision day will be held on Saturday, 17 February at the Coylton Activity Centre.
The Ayr South and Coylton locality planning group event is part of a drive to get people actively involved in local decision making known as 'Participatory Budgeting'.
Building on the success of recent community funding decision days, this latest marketplace event will see 28 groups display ideas for community projects to local people who are being invited to drop-in to vote to award funding.
Up to £20,000 is available at the event with groups able to be funded up to £1,000. Voting is open to anyone who lives, works, volunteers or studies in Alloway and Doonfoot, Ayr South Harbour, Town Centre, Belmont, Castlehill, Kincaidston, Holmston, Forehill Coylton, aged 12+.
The money is being made available from South Ayrshire Council and South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
Bids will support the following priority areas: children and young people; older people; social isolation; community transport; depression, alcohol and drugs.
The 'Decision Day' event takes place at the Coylton Activity Centre on Saturday 17 February between 1-3pm.
