South Ayrshire Council announced yesterday that the Wallace Tower would light up Blue and Pink to Mark respect for Baby Loss Awareness Week.
Due to a programming error, lighting up the tower did not happen. The Council said this was caused by an error from an external lighting contractor.
South Ayrshire Council bosses apologised in a post on Facebook.
The following statement was issued:
“Yesterday we told you that The Wallace Tower would be lit up in blue and pink last night in support of Baby Loss Awareness Week.
“Sadly, due to a programming error by our external lighting contractor, this did not happen. Instead the incorrect light programme came on.
“We know that this will have been extremely disappointing and upsetting for many of you, and we apologise profusely for any distress this has caused.
“We will now take steps to ensure that this does not happen again.”
As a mark of respect, The Wallace Tower will be lit up in blue and pink on the evenings of 16, 17 and 18 October.
