Ayrshire is being asked to join stagecoach bus drivers across as they are going to be cycling between Girvan and Largs in aid of John Kiltie who was killed outside his home.
A cycle run will take place on Sunday 26th June between Girvan and Largs via Ayr with all money raised going to the John Kiltie just giving page. T-shirts can also be purchased for £10 to wear on the day via Ayr bus station.
Bus drivers will also be taking part as a tribute towards John by cycling or running parts of the route. John who was a bus driver frequently drove the Ayr to Largs bus service 585 and Girvan bus services with the planned route also paying tribute to this.
The public and charity groups across Ayrshire are being urged to join the Stagecoach bus drivers and sign up and cycle for John with all donations raised going towards the just giving page. People are also being urged that there is no commitment to cycle the whole route and you can choose a section to your ability with all people being urged to take part.
Johns family and friends where left shocked after John was stabbed to death whilst washing his car on the 28th of May, with the community of Girvan coming together after the tragic death to help the family including local fundraising events towards the just giving page and the music on the prom yesterday which raised over £600 towards the fun.
This event has been set up to give all the people of Ayrshire the chance to pay there own tribute by Cycling, Running or jogging the length of Ayrshire.
The route will stretch over 50 miles and will finish at Largs.
The main stop and joining points across the route include Girvan victory park, Maybole, Ayr bus station, Prestwick cross, Troon, Irvine, Ardrossan and Largs with timetables for each stop expected to be announced very soon.
