Joe and Kathleen Handley recently celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary.
They first locked eyes across the dancefloor at the Bobby Jones dancehall in Ayr, and in 1959 they married in Ayr's St Margaret's Church. Joe was a hairdresser and Kathleen a school teacher.
Both now retired, they boast a large family of four children, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. They reside in Ayr, where Kathleen still volunteers at the local court and hospital.
South Ayrshire Provost Helen Moonie visited the couple to congratulate them with flowers and a card.
