Drugs with estimated street value of £60,000 seized in Mauchline

Drugs with an estimated street value in excess of £60,000 have been seized from an East Ayrshire address.

Just after 0930 am on Friday 22nd May 2020, Ayrshire Division Proactive Crime Team gained entry to a property in Horwood Place, Mauchline under the authority of a Sheriff’s search warrant.


A quantity of class A controlled drugs believed to be cocaine, were recovered during the search.


A 39 year old man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for alleged offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 including being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.


East Ayrshire Area Commander, Chief Inspector Steven Meikle said:

“Drugs are a blight on society and ruin the lives of too many in our community.


“Our officers are committed to tackling these issues and continue to work with partners and specialist police officers to identify offenders and bring them to justice.


“Action like this would not be possible without the continued support of the public. I encourage anyone with information about those involved in drug dealing to get in contact with their local policing team.”
