This week marks an exciting new chapter for Ayrshire’s specialty coffee scene as Espresso Kart opens the doors to its brand-new Prestwick Coffee Bar.

Founded by Stuart and Lyndsey Pell, Espresso Kart began in 2018 with a single mobile coffee van and a simple mission: bring exceptional specialty coffee to Ayrshire.

Since then, the independent family business has grown steadily, opening its first coffee bar in Kilmarnock in 2021, followed by a Prestwick takeaway bar in 2023. Now, just three doors up from their original location, Espresso Kart unveils Coffee Bar 2.0 at 3 F St Quivox, Prestwick.

Stuart Pell, Director and Co-Owner, explains:

"Espresso Kart Prestwick Coffee Bar 2.0 opens this week at 3 F St Quivox, Prestwick. We opened in Prestwick in 2023 with a single focus: to establish ourselves and grow organically. The first few months were the toughest we’ve faced in business, but by sticking with it, we achieved phenomenal growth.

The next step became clear, and with invaluable feedback from our regulars and locals, we’ve created a dedicated space for specialty coffee.

The result is simple yet effective: a layout that improves customer flow, enhances the overall experience, and makes enjoying Espresso Kart even better."

Espresso Kart has become a daily fixture for locals, welcoming customers for takeaway coffee, informal meetings, catch-ups with friends, and even a weekly running club. The bar has also earned a loyal following among four-legged visitors, with dogs always part of the Espresso Kart experience.

Returning to Ayrshire from Australia in 2014, Stuart and Lyndsey Pell set out with a clear vision: introduce true barista-quality coffee to the area. That commitment to quality remains central to the brand.

Espresso Kart’s signature blend continues to be a firm favourite, complemented by rotating feature roasts sourced from respected coffee roasters, ensuring customers always have something new to discover.

More than just coffee, Espresso Kart offers a relaxed coffee shop setting where customers can enjoy freshly prepared bagels, sourdough sandwiches, wraps, and cakes supplied by their own Kartisan Bakehouse.

Coffee Bar 2.0 introduces a larger, more versatile space, complete with seating, a dedicated bar area, and improved flow for takeaway service.

For Espresso Kart, this move represents more than expansion - it reflects the evolution of a brand shaped by community, quality, and customer connection.

Espresso Kart is open 7 days a week from 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.
