Galston road closure from planned from 18th September

Due to the demolition work being carried out on the former Co-Op building on Cross Street, Galston, we must temporarily close a short stretch of the road at the top of Cross Street from 18 September for approximately 12 weeks.

The closure will not affect access to Church Lane and the public car park.

The stuctural concerns with the building are so serious that we must demolish the building as soon as possible.

Ayrshire Road Alliance said:

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, however the safety of the public and contractors must come first. The work will feed into the current regeneration of Galston Town Centre and plans include the restoration of the Council Offices to provide improved services and accessibility.

Our Local Office has been temporarily relocated to Galston Library with cash payments able to be made at the PayPoint across the road. Our staff are happy to advise and support customers.

We will also be consulting the public on the exciting new plans for the area in the coming weeks. More information is available here and will be updated as the project develops.
