Leisure facilities at the state-of-the-art Garnock Community Campus are to open fully to the public on 28 January.
The new facilities, which include a 25m swimming pool, were originally scheduled to open on Saturday, 21 January.
However, it has been confirmed that that date has now been put back for a week to ensure the facilities are fully operational and ready for a public opening.
Garnock Community Campus opened on January 10 to school pupils from the former Garnock Academy, Glengarnock Primary School and Glengarnock Early Years class, with the leisure part of the development scheduled to open a few weeks later.
KA Leisure, who will operate the leisure facilities confirmed today: “We’ve been working hard to prepare the new Garnock Community Campus for our scheduled opening tomorrow (21 January). We want to make sure everything is perfect our customers. With a few finishing touches still to make we must delay our full opening until Saturday, 28 January.”
Once open, customers will be able to enjoy a wide range of facilities at the new campus, including:
25m x 6 lane swimming pool and a teaching/warm up pool with changing facilities and spectator seating
Two four court multi-use sports hall for all indoor sports
Two double court multi-use sports hall for all indoor sports
One single court multi-use sports hall for all indoor sports
Fitness suite
Theatre
Community Rooms
Café
