Big hearted staff have dug deep to donate presents to children and young people in South Ayrshire who otherwise might not receive many, if any, gifts on Christmas Day.
The Council has now been running this successful campaign for 5 years and since its launch in 2015, generous employees have purchased over 2,400 gifts.
This year the campaign saw festive Giving Trees put in place at eight Council buildings, with labels attached containing a young person's name and age. Employees then took a label from the tree, bought and wrapped a gift for the child before returning it back to the tree with its label attached. All 412 tags were quickly snapped up.
All of the presents bought this year were delivered to be opened on Christmas Day, and the lovely gifts will make the day special for so many children and young people across South Ayrshire.
Eileen Howat, Chief Executive at South Ayrshire Council said "We've had a fantastic response from staff this year, with hundreds of presents donated in just a couple of days.
"I'd like to thank everyone who donated their generous gifts this year, all of which will help to add a little sparkle to the lives of hundreds of children and young people on Christmas Day."
