Happy 100th as high flying RAF man celebrates a milestone birthday

A former RAF pilot who flew Wellington Bombers in World War 2 is celebrating his one hundredth birthday.
Flight Lieutenant Harry Richardson marked the occasion at an informal afternoon tea at the RAFA club in Prestwick, where he’s been a member since 1948.
During 1940 Harry, originally from Leicester, joined the Royal Air Force and trained as a pilot initially flying Tiger Moths. Most of his wartime service was as a member of two Squadrons and went on to fly Liberators with 159 Squadron and Wellington Squadron Bombers with 149 Squadron. Harry continued after the War finished as a volunteer in the Royal Air Force in India until 1947.
After leaving the RAF Harry enjoyed a successful career with the Civil Aviation Authority at Prestwick. Still an active member of the RAFA club in Prestwick, Harry plays snooker once a week and still practices table tennis at the club as part of his active lifestyle.
Harry has two daughters, Penelope lives in Ochiltree and Lynda in Girvan. He has three grandsons and one granddaughter and one great granddaughter. His second wife, Marjorie, is due to celebrate her 100th Birthday in November.
South Ayrshire Provost, Helen Moonie, joined Harry to mark the milestone birthday at the RAFA club in Prestwick.
