Police in North Ayrshire have arrested a man for offences relating to drugs supply and driving whilst unfit through drugs.
About 1115 hours on Tuesday 29th January 2019, police on patrol had cause to stop a vehicle on Neil Avenue, Irvine.
Following enquiries, the 43 year old Galston man driving the vehicle was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply an alleged Class A drug - believed to be Cocaine and possession of an alleged Class B drug - believed to be Cannabis. He was also charged with drug driving and held to appear at court.
A spokesperson for Ayrshire Police Division said:
“Our officers will continue to target criminals using the road network for illegal activity and criminal gain. The drugs trade has a detrimental effect on our communities.
“Driving whilst impaired further increases the risks to everyone and we are committed to working to reduce the number of casualties on our roads. We urge anyone who has concerns about drug dealing or illegal drivers to contact us.”
