Irvine police appealing for information after alleged dangerous driving incident

WITNESS APPEAL - DANGEROUS DRIVING - NORTH AYRSHIRE

Roads Policing Officers based at Irvine are appealing for information and witnesses to an incident of alleged dangerous driving.

About 2250 hours on Friday 2nd March 2018 a green coloured Focus RS motor vehicle is reported to have been driven dangerously, northbound on the A78 between the Pennyburn and Sharphill Roundabouts in North Ayrshire and was last seen entering Dalry Road, Saltcoats.

PC Prout, of Roads Policing at Irvine, commented "We are appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing this vehicle and identifying the driver. The vehicle is described as a three door Focus RS, in a distinctive green colour, possibly the 2009-2016 model.

"Thankfully no-one was injured during this incident. I would ask anyone who may have been in the area and seen this vehicle or indeed anyone who knows the driver to contact Police Scotland or to call CrimeStoppers anonymously.

"We are particulary keen to speak to anyone in the area who may have a dash-cam fitted to their vehicle or to the driver of a silver Ford Focus who may also have witnessed the incident".

Police Scotland can be contacted via the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 2848 of 03/03/18. Information can also be passed via the independent charity CrimeStoppers by calling 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
