South Ayrshire Council has appointed a new Executive Manager to its corporate leadership team.
Louise Reid – currently a Programme Manager with Police Scotland – will take up her post within the Council’s Place Directorate early next month.
The Place Directorate is responsible for a range of services, including the Council’s capital programme, asset management, building control, corporate procurement, facilities management, housing, neighbourhood services, planning and property maintenance.
Louise – who started her career as a qualified high school teacher – brings an extensive and successful track record from across the public, private and voluntary sectors focused on change management, delivering best value, project management, service improvement and innovation.
She said: “South Ayrshire Council has a very good reputation and I’m really excited to get the chance to help improve the lives of those around me.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a wide range of services and really get to the heart of what we can do as a local Council to make life better for people and communities across South Ayrshire.
I’m really looking forward to joining the team and can’t wait to get started.”
Council Leader, Councillor Douglas Campbell, chairs the Panel that appointed Louise. He said: “I’m very proud of the progress the Council has made over the last year in taking forward our ambitions for South Ayrshire and starting the work to turn these into reality.
“I look forward to Louise joining the Council and putting her skills and qualities to use in helping transform how local services are delivered. I have no doubt she will be a great addition to our management team and will hit the ground running to make a real difference for our people and our places."
Louise – who lives on a working farm in Ardrossan – is married with three cats and a dog.
