Man arrested after stealing a motor vehicle in Saltcoats 

A 39 year old Saltcoats man has been arrested and charged for theft from a motor vehicle and reset.

Following reports of thefts in the town, the 39 year old was identified through local enquiry and the stolen property has been recovered and returned to its rightful owners. The man is currently custody and will appear before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court later today (09/07/2019).

PC Rose of the North Ayrshire Priority Policing Team said:

“This thief was an opportunist who identified an easy target, and took his chance. “ “We would remind members of the public to be careful and check that they have secured their vehicles.”
