New 30p charge to be introduced after toilet makeover

People using Prestwick Beach will soon have access to improved facilities, with work about to get underway to enhance the public conveniences on Links Road.

In-line with similar projects, a 30p charge is being introduced to help manage daily costs. The £20,000 project at Links Road involves a complete refresh of the paintwork, a review of all fittings to make sure they’re still fit for purpose, installation of a coin operated paddle gate to the main lobby; and a coin box fitted to the disabled WC at the side of the block. To allow the work to take place the Links Road facilities will be closed between Monday, 6 November and Friday, 24 November. The project is being delivered by Advanced Refurbishment Ltd.

Peter Henderson is South Ayrshire Council’s Portfolio Holder for Resources and Performance, “We’re committed to maintaining services and these improvements in Prestwick make a real difference to the block on Links Road
