Officers from North Ayrshire Police are moving to a new location in Largs from Wednesday, 20 November, 2019.
From 9am on Wednesday morning, officers covering Ayrshire’s North Coast and Cumbraes will be based at Brooksby Medical and Resource Centre, 31 Brisbane Road, Largs. The current police office on Court Street, Largs will close.
We are committed to maintaining our visible presence in Largs and this office move has been in the planning for a considerable time. It was important that we considered a range of options to support the delivery of a local police service while having accommodation that fits with modern working practices. The current office is no longer suitable for its purpose and the new premises offers modern facilities alongside the benefits of shared occupation with our partner agencies.
Local Community and Response policing services are already provided from Largs so there is no change to the way police officers will patrol the area and respond to calls.
Opening hours of the Front Counter service will remain the same and be available from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with a one hour closure between 12.30 and 1.30pm.
Chief Inspector Brian Shaw, Local Area Commander for North Ayrshire, said:
“I am committed to delivering a high quality policing service and I am sure that this office relocation will be welcomed by the local community.
“Our new, modern base in Brisbane Road is easily accessible and reflects the needs of the local community. It will provide a much needed, improved experience for all our visitors and a much healthier working environment for my officers.
“We will now be based in the same building as our NHS and North Ayrshire Council colleagues and this neighbourhood base will allow us to work with our partner agencies more effectively, opening up further opportunities to work closely to support the local community.”
Police Officers can be contacted through 101. Please call 999 in an emergency
