New Family Funfest is coming to Kilmarnock!

An exciting new event full of music and merriment is coming to Kilmarnock over two days this summer.

On Friday 21 July, the first free event will have loads going on, from dinosaur encounters and kids’ arts and crafts to live music, giant games and magical mayhem with a roving children’s entertainer. There will also be an opportunity to become an agent in an interactive online trail around the town centre in search of the “Cursed Diamond” with Spyquest. To play, all you need is a smart phone or tablet with internet access. On Friday 4 August, there will be more live music, magical mayhem and giant games. There will also be street theatre including Punch and Judy plus our milliners of distinction – Harbuck & Futtock – creating their unique items of headwear! Get involved with our on-street art where you can help create outdoor artwork and visit the Burns Mall to experience Virtual Reality at a special pop up space. Courtesy of Utopia Computers and sponsored by Burns Mall, this is your chance to try out the amazing world of VR. All of the activities will take place around The Cross from 11.30am until 3.30pm. Town Centre Manager Fiona Nicolson said: “The Family Funfest days feature activities that will appeal to all family members, young and older. Events like these are a good way to encourage people to experience the town centre as a place to enjoy and socialise in, and they can visit our excellent range of local shops, cafes and restaurants while they’re there too.”

Keep updated on all things local
