A group based in Ayr called “Don’t Trash Ayr” had a good first meeting with Ayr McDonalds to help combat the amount of litter being dumped around Ayr.

The group also have another meeting set up with McDonalds however the groups main aim is to get fast food restaurants like McDonalds to mark each bag with a car registration so if dumped the rubbish can be traced.

The group issued the following post on Facebook this morning:

“A member of the ‘Dont Trash Ayr’ had an appointment with manager of McDonalds today to raise concerns re amount of McDonalds litter around Ayr. Very positive meeting on how we can work together and another meeting scheduled soon. We know of an online petition to ask fast food restaurants to put car

registrations on packaging to try and trace litter louts. We will be pushing this further.”
