Police have issued the following information
FATAL ROAD CRASH - GIRVAN
A man has died following a fatal road crash near Girvan on Monday 2 January 2017.
Around 0030 hours on Monday 2 January 2017, a 28 year-old woman was driving a Ford Focus car on the A77 north of Girvan near to its junction with the B741 when she struck a pedestrian.
Emergency services attended, but the pedestrian – a 38 year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 28 year-old woman was uninjured.
The road was closed and diversions were place – the road has since reopened.
Officers from the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Irvine Police Office are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to contact their office through 101.
