It’s one of the biggest petitions in recent years and any petition that gets over 100,000 signatures should be considered for debate in the house of parliament.

It comes after PM Keir Starmer announced on Friday that digital ID cards would be mandatory across the UK for all residents by the end of the current parliamentary term (2029).
