Police appeal after 18 year-old assaulted in Largs with child’s scooter

Police in Largs are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in Largs, North Ayrshire on Sunday 18th August 2019.

Around 0200hrs the 18 year old woman was with a friend at the taxi rank outside Largs Railway Station, at this time she has had cause to speak with someone else at the rank who has then lifted a child’s scooter and thrown it, striking her to the face.


The victim attended hospital for treatment before being released.


PC Euan Graham of Largs Police Office said: “This was a sickening assault and I am keen to trace the person responsible. The victim sustained painful injuries however it could have been much worse.”


“At the time, Largs Main Street particularly around the licensed premises and taxi-ranks would have been busy with people enjoying the night time economy. Enquiries – including CCTV review – are ongoing to trace the person responsible who is believed to be in his 40s and was wearing a blue bomber-style jacket at the time.”
