Police appeal after SEVEN cars are damaged in Ayr

Police in South Ayrshire are appealing for information and witnesses following reports of damage to a number of vehicles in Ayr recently.

Between 12:30am and 1:30am in the early hours of Monday 27th of March 2017, seven cars had windows damaged while parked in McCalls Avenue, Goschen Terrace, Walker Road and Lochside Road, Ayr.

Communities Inspector James Hendrie commented “These were mindless acts of vandalism and little or no thought has been given to the impact it will have on the individuals who have had their cars damaged.

"Our investigation is ongoing with officers conducting house to house enquiries and identifying potential CCTV opportunities in the area.

“We are particularly keen to speak to an individual described as wearing a black hooded top and carrying a pair of ice skates who was seen walking in the direction of Lochside Road at the time of the incident and may have information to assist our enquiries.

“I would urge anyone with any information on this incident or anyone who knows those responsible to contact us."

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact Police Scotland by calling 101 or to call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
