MISSING PERSON - PRESTWICK
Police Scotland is appealing for information from the media and the public in trying to locate a 68 year-old man missing from Prestwick.
Nigel Peacock was last seen in the Sandgate area of Ayr town centre on Monday 11 December around midday after we believe he visited a barber shop. He was reported missing by his family on Tuesday 12 December as they had not heard from him.
Nigel is around 5ft 4 of medium build with black hair and blue eyes. When he was last seen he was wearing dark navy jacket with red trim around the neckline, dark trousers, black shoes and was wearing a gold wedding band.
Police officers have been checking CCTV, as well as speaking to family, friends and those in the local area. Officers are also liaising with their counterparts at British Transport Police in attempts to trace him.
Chief Inspector Gary I’Anson, of Ayr Police Station, said:
“We have growing concern for Nigel who has left home without any way of contacting anyone, and is not equipped for the cold weather.
"Nigel has recently been dealing with some personal issues and also gets a little confused at times and therefore his family are extremely worried for him.
"He has family and friends in the Ayr, Prestwick, Glasgow and Argyll areas and we believe he does have his bus pass with him, therefore we would ask anyone who has seen a man matching his description to contact us.”
Anyone with information should contact Ayr Police Station on 101, quoting incident number 2496 of Tuesday 12 December 2017.
