Police appealing for information after an elderly man's home was robbed in Ayr 

Detectives at Ayrshire Police Division are appealing for information and witnesses following an incident where an elderly man was robbed in Ayr earlier this morning, Sunday 9th June.

Around 0830 hours, an 81 year old man was within his home in James Street when he answered his door to an unknown man. He was pushed by this man who threatened him and then was robbed of a two figure sum of money. He then made off on a bike which was described as a mountain bike style towards George Street/Elba Street direction. The suspect is described as approximately 30 years of age and 6ft tall. He was wearing dark clothing with his hood up.

Detective Constable Stuart McCulloch, Ayr CID, said: “This was a very distressing experience for the victim who has been left clearly shaken and distressed after the incident. “Thankfully he was not injured however this was a very frightening experience for him. It is imperative that we trace the man responsible for this attack as soon as possible. "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at that time and saw anything suspicious to contact police via the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 1288 of 9th June 2019.
