Police appealing for information after numerous cars caught speeding on the A736

APPEAL FOR INFORMATION - IRVINE / AYRSHIRE

Police Scotland is appealing for help from the public and asking for dash-cam footage after a number of high performance cars were spotted driving dangerously and at excessive speed in the Irvine area, on the A736 Lochlibo Road and throughout other parts of Ayrshire last week.

On Thursday 2nd August 2018 a blue coloured BMW M6, an orange coloured Nissan GTR, a red coloured Audi S5, black and yellow coloured Porsches and a blue Jaguar F-type were seen in Irvine.

They arrived in Irvine around 6pm on the Thursday and left around 9am on the Friday, where they proceeded north on the A736.

Constable Michael Prout, Trunk Road Policing Unit, said: It is suspected these cars were travelling in convoy and entered Ayrshire on Thursday. Officers then observed them travelling north from Irvine on Friday.

“The vehicles were travelling at excessive speed and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed their manner of driving or may have dash-cam footage of the cars to contact us so we can identify the drivers involved.

“Anyone with footage or information should contact Irvine Road Police via 101. Alternatively you can contact CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.”
