Police appealing for information after serious RTC on the A77 

Police Scotland is appealing for information following a serious road crash on the A77 on Thursday, 30 January, 2020.

Around 2:35pm, police received a report of a road crash involving a silver Vauxhall Astra. The car was travelling northbound on the A77 near to South Drumboy Farm, East Ayrshire, when it appeared to lose control, cross the carriageway and crash into a tree. All four occupants of the car were injured in the incident. Two people, a man aged 20 and a woman aged 18, were taken to Crosshouse Hospital. A 30-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl were taken to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride. The 30-year-old man has since been released. The road was closed for several hours to allow for crash scene investigation. An investigation is under way to establish the circumstances of the crash and officers are appealing for anyone with any information or dash cam footage from around the time of the incident to contact them as they could have information which could assist officers in determining what happened. Anyone with information is asked to call Road Policing at Irvine via 101, quoting incident number 1739 of 30 January, 2020.
