Police appeal for information after car kills dog and injures woman between Mossblown and Annbank

Police in Ayrshire are appealing for information following a hit and run involving a car and a pedestrian on the B742.

The incident happened between Mossblown and Annbank around 3.15pm on Saturday, 9 May, 2020.


The crash saw a 21-year-old woman taken to hospital with serious injuries and resulted in her dog being killed.


Officers believe the vehicle involved, a red Vauxhall Astra VXR, with two men on-board, made off in the direction of Annbank.


Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who saw the vehicle before or after to get in touch.


Constable Greg Norwood from the Ayrshire Road Policing Unit based at Irvine, said: “This was a traumatic experience for the woman involved and we are keen to trace the vehicle involved.


“We believe the car will have sustained significant damage to the front offside and are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.”
