Police appealing for witnesses after early morning disturbance at a house in Ayr

Police in Ayr are appealing for witnesses following a disturbance at a property on Tuesday, 31 December, 2019.

The incident happened around 7.50pm outside a house on James Campbell Road. A number of people tried to force entry to the property but fled before police arrived.

Detective Constable Paul McRoberts, of Ayr CID, said: "Enquiries are ongoing and we have been conducting door-to-door enquiries in the area. We believe a group of people tried to gain access to the property but were unsuccessful. I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious and has not yet spoken to police to come forward as soon as possible.

"I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area at the time to look back at their dash-cam footage to check for any suspicious activity involving a group of people."
