Rock singer Rod Stewart will take to the stage at Rugby Park, Kilmarnock this Friday (17th June 2016) as part of his current 'The Hits' tour.
Residents, businesses and concert goers are being advised to allow additional time for their journey in the area on the day as parking restrictions and road closures are implemented to ensure public safety.
A number of 'no-waiting' restrictions will be in place in the streets surrounding the venue from 7am on Friday.
The following road closures will also be implemented from about 4pm to 11.30pm on the day. - South Hamilton Street along its whole length. - Rugby Road from its junction with South Hamilton Street. - Dundonald Place from its junction with Dundonald Road.
A traffic management company has been contracted by the event organisers to implement the restrictions following consultation with the local Roads Authority.
Sergeant Milligan of Ayrshire Operations Planning Department said: "This promises to be a great event and it is great to see Kilmarnock continuing to host some of the big names in music.
"With the large number of people expected we are encouraging everyone in the area to allow additional time for their journey. Where possible visitors should consider the use of public transport and drivers should follow signs for parking.
"We will have officers on patrol at the venue and in the surrounding area to work with event staff and I would encourage drivers to follow any directions given and plan their journey in advance."
