SAFE SUMMER – SUMMER SAFETY ADVICE With the temperatures soaring across Ayrshire today, we are expecting a significant number of people to visit local beaches and other visitor attractions in Ayrshire.
We have a comprehensive policing plan in place due to the expected increase in visitor numbers - this will include additional officers at train stations and beaches. We are also working closely with our partners including Scotrail, British Transport Police and Local Authorities to ensure everyone can enjoy their visit. We would also like to issue a few reminders: • The water might be very tempting on a day like today, however, please don't swim out too far as the current may be strong and the temperature will be very cold. • It is an offence to consume alcohol in any public space and you will be issued with a fixed penalty notice if you do so. • If it is suspected that you are providing alcohol to under 18 year olds then your alcohol will be confiscated and you may be liable to prosecution. • Antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated. This includes noise nuisance and littering. Please keep our beaches beautiful and pick up your rubbish. Don't spoil the experience for everyone else. We have additional officers on patrol today - please speak with officers to discuss any local concerns. Antisocial behaviour and criminality will not be tolerated. To report any incidents or concerns please call us on 101 (in an emergency always dial 999). Enjoy the sunshine and keep safe!
