Police seek help to locate missing 14 year-old from Irvine

UPDATE 20:34: Police have confirmed, Morgan has been traced safe and well.

Police Scotland is seeking the assistance of the public and the media in trying to locate a 14 year old girl missing from Irvine.

Morgan Banks was last seen in Kilwinning Road when she left school around 2pm this afternoon, Tuesday 18 December 2018.

Morgan is white, around 5 ft. 5 inches in height, with a medium build. She has long blond hair and was wearing a white shirt, black leggings, a green camouflage jacket with a fur hood, a red tartan scarf and carrying a pink bag. She also has braces on her teeth.

Extensive enquiries have been carried out to locate Morgan but attempts to trace her have so far proved unsuccessful.

Officers are in the process of checking CCTV footage for any sightings of Morgan or any information which could lead them to locating her.

Inspector Darren Muir said:

“Concern is growing for Morgan and her family is extremely worried. Everyone just wants to know she is safe and well. I am appealing to anyone who may have seen Morgan today or anyone who has any information or knowledge as to her whereabouts to contact us. Any small piece of information could help us locate Morgan and ensure she is ok.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Irvine Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 1936 of 18 December 2018.
