Prison sentence for Stevenston heroin supplier

PRISON SENTENCE FOR STEVENSTON HEROIN SUPPLIER A 33-year-old man has been sentenced to 245 days in prison after admitting supplying heroin in Stevenston last year.

Anthony Auld, from Stevenston, pled guilty at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today to supplying the Class A drug in the Ayrshire town between September and October last year. Auld was arrested in November 2017 as part of an intelligence-led operation co-ordinated between the Ayrshire and Specialist Crime Divisions, focussing on the supply of controlled drugs in the area. Detective Superintendent Jim Kerr, Ayrshire Division, said: “The conviction and sentence handed to Auld sends out a clear message that supplying drugs that blight our communities will not be tolerated by Police Scotland or the courts. “Officers will continue to target this criminal activity and I trust that our ongoing activity will continue to give communities the confidence to come forward with information to help us identify anyone involved.”
